Digging below the surface to what makes mentoring work
You are invited to join us in Melbourne on Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th April for the 2013 Christian Mentoring Network Forum. Following the interest in last year’s forum we decided to focus on this year on specific skills and equipping for mentors to deepen their mentoring relationships. Some of the highlights will be: Graeme Cann reflecting on the practice of mentoring, Keith Farmer and Mark Conner sharing insights from their mentoring relationship, Sandy Jones teaching on effective mentoring arising from appraisals, Rick Lewis and Tim Dyer teaching from their experience on practices and skills to give mentoring traction in the lives of others. The fourth annual Mentors Forum held 9-11 May at The Tops Conference Centre just outside Sydney was a great success. This peer learning event was attended by 45 people from all over Australia. Continue reading “Mentoring Forum a Great Success”

“There is a rhythm of created life which ensures a greater chance of sustainability and ongoing well being if we explicitly replenish regularly our spiritual, emotional, intellectual and physical batteries. Through my role as a mentor to Christian leaders in the last 6 years I have become aware that one of major threats to ongoing leadership within Australian Christianity and churches is burnout – and its key symptom of emotional exhaustion.” Rev Dr Keith Farmer
If you share this concern for Christian leaders in Australia and feel God has gifted and placed you to support and mentor Christian leaders then you are invited to the Mentoring Network Forum. If you are sensing this is an area where God is leading you and you want to learn more, or whether you are an experienced mentor and want to learn from peers then this Forum is the place to be.
