At our latest ACMN Zoom networking meeting we looked at a number of ways we can inspire and motivate ourselves and our mentees to reach for the goals we want to achieve. Creating a vision board was one example shared.

A vision board is a sacred place that displays what you want in life. When you hang it in a space where you see it daily, your vision board brings your goals and aspirations to life. A vision board is a physical representation of a goal or goals that you’re aiming to achieve.
What does the bible say about vision?
Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish:
Habakkuk 2:2 And the Lord answered me, “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run that reads it.”
A Christian vision board is an excellent tool to visualise the dreams and goals that God has placed in your heart and soul. You can create a vision board for your whole life or focus on an area e.g., work/vocation.
How to create a Vision Board
Throughout these steps, pray as you brainstorm and put on paper.
STEP 1: VISION – What does your best self look like?
STEP 2: GOALS – What goals will help you become that person?
STEP 3: ACTION – What actions will help you achieve those goals?
STEP 4: CREATE! – Gather images & quotes that help you define this!
STEP 5: DISPLAY – Place your vision board where you can see it everyday
a few quotes about vision:
“Sow a thought, reap an action; sown an action, reap a habit; sow a habit, reap a character; sow a character; reap a destiny” Stephen Covey
“People have uphill hopes and downhill habits; Anything worthwhile is uphill; Accidental achievement doesn’t exist.” John Maxwell
“The most pathetic person in the world is someone who has sight but no vision.” Helen Keller
Consider creating a vision board for yourself or use it as a resource for your mentoring relationships!
