  • About Ian

  • Dr Ian Duncum has been mentoring Christian leaders for many years. While recently serving in a denominational leadership role (church health and development), he encountered a significant number of pastors experiencing burnout and this has increased Ian’s focus and passion to encourage pastoral well-being.
Ian is currently mentoring both pastors and chaplains, and many of those he has mentored are serving in significant church or para-church positions. Ian has mentored ministry couples as well as individuals. Mentoring has included areas such as dealing with life and ministry transitions, clarifying gifts and strengths, developing spiritually, honing ministry practice, and strengthening relationships.
Ian is a member of the Australian Christian Mentoring Network, Pastoring of Pastors community of practice, and of the Australian Association of Supervision.
Ian is an accredited minister with a track record of growing and revitalising churches of various sizes, an Interim/Intentional Interim Pastor, an author, and a church and non-profit consultant. Additionally, Ian has held denominational leadership roles in church consultancy training/supervision, and a tertiary research position with NCLS Research/ACU.
Ian lives in Sydney (but can Zoom if elsewhere) and is married to Joanne, a speech pathologist. They have two adult sons. For relaxation, Ian enjoys a good coffee, playing tennis, reading, and renovating.
